Bocephus R. “Bo” Meyer, 17, of Newton died Friday, Jan. 31, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. at Pence Funeral Home in Newton, with the Rev. Jim Olson, pastor of Zoar Church officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may visit after 4 p.m. Monday at Pence Funeral Home where family will be available from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials in his name may be left at the funeral home.
The son of Jeffery Scott Meyer and Deena Wharff Jenkins, he was born July 9, 1985 in Newton. He was a senior at Newton Senior High School. He was a cook and helped at the Gaucho Café in Newton, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, electronics and chemistry.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Deena and Dan Jenkins of Newton; a step-sister, Stephanie Jenkins of Davenport; grandparents Bev and Leon Wharff, Bill and Leitha Jenkins and Bill and Arlene Hicks, all of Newton; and great-grandparents Lucille Christy and Leon Wharff, both of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandfather, great-grandfather and great-grandmother.
