Earl Runyan Rites Monday

Monroe -- Earl Runyan, 55, of Aurora, Ill., formerly of Monroe, died Friday at Copley Memorial Hospital, Aurora.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church at Monroe with the Rev. James V. Poulsen, Council Bluffs, officiating. Burial will be in Monroe. Walters Funeral HOme in Prairie City is in charge of arrangements.

Among survivors are his widow, Oletha; one son, Robert of Des Moines, two daughters, Mrs. Merritt (Janice) VanRoekel of Monroe and Mrs. Dennis (Lana) Richardson of North Liberty; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Lena Runyan of Colfax, and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Pickles of Colfax and Mrs. Gladys Teslik of Clear Lake.

Mr. Runyan was preceded in death by his father and four brothers.

Associated with Pfister Associated Growers, Inc., for 28 years, Mr. Runyan was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Jasper County to Lanar and Lena (Henderson) Runyan. He was married to Oletha B. Emmack, June 12, 1937, in Marshalltown.

Memorials will be accepted for the United Methodist Church of Monroe, of which Mr. Runyan was a member.
