Obituary of David Mills

A Celebration of Life Services for David L. Mills, 71, will be held at the Newton Salvation Army. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left in David's name. David LeRoy Mills, the son of Elmer J. and Genevieve (Pinegar) Mills, was born February 25, 1943, in Iowa City.

On December 29, 1969, Dave was united in marriage with Wanda Fink in Newton. A longtime resident of the Newton area, Dave was employed by the Newton Daily News as a carrier. He enjoyed the peaceful life, devoting his life to his family. He was a member of the Newton Salvation Army, enjoyed music and his harmonica.

Dave entered into the gates of Glory on January 5, 2015, at his home, with his son Mike at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his step-son Robert Dean "Bobby" Talbot Jr. on May 23, 2011. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Those left to honor Dave's memory include his wife Wanda; his son Michael S.
