"This community (Rhodes) was greatly shocked early Friday morning when the sad news reached here of the sudden death of Mr. W. H. Emery, which occurred at his home, a short distance from Valeria, on Aug. 3. Mr. Emery and family had made Rhodes their home for a number of years until last spring when he bought a farm near Valeria and they moved there. Mr. Emery and family were held in high esteem at this place and he leaves to mourn his death a large circle of very warm friends. The body was brought here Saturday evening, accompanied by the family and relatives and taken to the home of Mrs. Mead."
