"Mrs. Willis Beard of Near Mingo Died Monday
Funeral Services Held Wednesday Afternoon at HomeMrs. Willis Beard, 49, of Mingo, passed away Monday at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines following an illness of three weeks.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the home south of Mingo at 2 p.m.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Verla and Neva at home, and Mrs. Howard Maxwell, one son, Delmar of Goddard; her father S. E. Harter, two sisters, Mrs. Chauncey Akins of Mingo and Mrs. Floy Hays of Alaska and a brother, Dale Harter of Mingo.
Mrs. Beard was well known here where she had visited in the home of Mr. Beard's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Beard and brothers and sister.
Rev. Ida Halston of the Mingo Methodist church had charge of the service.
Music was furnished by Mrs. A. W. Frey, Mrs. J. L. Hartley, Floyd Hulse and Roy Westfall with Mrs. Carrie Hay accompanist.
Pall bearers were: Art Southern, Otha Hulse, Howard Southern, Henry Herberer, Chas. Maxwell and Roy Westfall.
Burial was had in the Graham cemetery."
