‘Jack’ Harrington Dies in California At Age 90 Years
Jonathan “Jack” Harrington, former resident here, died Saturday in Huntington Park, Cal., at the age of 90, according to word received here.
Mr. Harrington was born in England in Dec. 1862. He first came to the United States in 1902 when he went to Colfax. He toured the world about 1932, returned to the United States, then went back to England in 1939 where he had to remain because of World War II.
Mr. Harrington returned to the United States in 1945 and lived in Newton for a time. He was a contractor and plumber by trade.
In 1926 he was married to Harriet Louisa Bantock in New York, and they had one daughter, the late Nelle Harrington Jensma who died in 1946. Survivors include four granddaughters, four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Mr. Harrington was a member of The Daily News Three-Quarter Century club.
