Baxter, March 13 – Special to The Daily News – Funeral services for Robert Deeter were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Congregational church here, with Rev. H. D. Simmons of the Methodist church at Mingo, officiating. Burial was in Restland cemetery.
The flowers were in charge of Miss Helen Stock and Mrs. John Boyd. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Thomas Helming, Mrs. E. J. Goodwin, Charles Davies and Guy Hardenberg with Mrs. F. C. Mason at the piano, who sang, “There Will Be No Tears in Paradise,” “Rock of Ages” and “Just As I Am.”
Pallbearers were C. C. Webb, Charles Burdick, Frank Clark, August Hager, A. O. Wilson and Calvin Noah.
Mr. Deeter was born in Henry county, Ohio on Feb. 18, 1832 and died at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Richmond on March 9, at the age of 89 years.
He came here with his parents when he was two years of age and had spent practically all his life here.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, Lou of Ira and Lee of Newton; by four daughters, Mrs. Brown of New Providence, Ia., Mrs. Ude Buckland of Baxter, Mrs. Ross Sutton of Ira and Mrs. Ernest Luing of Rhodes, besides a number of grand children and great grand children.
