David Leo Buehrer, age 72 of Colfax, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014, at Newton Health Care Center. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 13, 2014, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Oscar and Mary (Ryan) Buehrer, David was born on September 15, 1942, in Des Moines. He graduated from Dowling High School and attended Iowa State University. David was united in marriage to Vickie Hardie on October 15, 1965. He worked as a Waste Water Engineer for the City of Des Moines, retiring in 2005. David was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and building things for his family.

David's family includes his wife Vickie at home; five children, Melissa (David) Daft of Colfax, Chuck (Sue) Buehrer of Colfax, Molly (Dean) Timmons of Prairie City, Mike Buehrer of Des Moines, and Joe Buehrer of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Lydia Daft, Mary Daft, Kurt Timmons, Keith Timmons, Kyle Timmons (Deceased), Katelyn Buehrer and Jake Buehrer and a brother, Don Buehrer (Deceased). ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa Oct 2014.
