B. S. Chard, 80, Former Colfax Resident, Dies
COLFAX – Benjamin Samuel Chard, 80, of Des Moines, a former resident of Colfax, died Sunday at the Altoona Care Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Charles Wilder, pastor of the Colfax Baptist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Greencastle Cemetery, south of Mingo.
Survivors are his wife, Lennie; a daughter, Mrs. T. B. (Edith) Wagner of Colfax; three grandchildren, Mike and Randy Wagner and Gary Poulson; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Chard, he was born Sept. 16, 1892 in Erie, Kan.
He was married to Lennie Catron July 1, 1914 in Erie, Kan.
