Warren Bingaman, 91, of Roselle, Illinois, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, died Friday, September 12, 2014.

Funeral Services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, September 18th at McLaren's Chapel, 801 19th Street in West Des Moines, with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at McLarens Chapel.

Warren was born June 21, 1923 in Knoxville, Iowa to Pearl and Mary Anne (Ross) Bingaman. He grew up in Marion County Iowa where his family lived. Warren was married to Frances (Moreno) in 1966 and they were blessed with four children, Dale, Lucy, Pamela and Arnold.

At age 17 Warren worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps, and enlisted in the Air Force during World War II. After World War II, he worked in Newton for the Automatic Washing Machine Co. and for 18 years he worked as a taxicab driver in Des Moines, for Yellow Cab, and Ruan Cab Co.

Through his life Warren loved to be outside, whether it was trapping, fishing, watching horses, tinkering on an automobile, or just enjoying a cigar. Those who knew Warren will remember him for his outgoing personality, his stories of flying planes, or rebuilding his prized Model T.

Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Moreno) Bingaman; parents, Pearl and Mary Anne (Ross) Bingaman; and his sisters, Barbara Jo Bingaman, and Betty Rickabaugh.

Warren is survived by his four children, Dale Bingaman of Des Moines, Iowa, Lucy "Renay" (Nelson) Martinez of Streamwood, Illinois, Pamela Bingaman of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Arnold (Heather) Bingaman of Des Moines, Iowa; granddaughters, Sabrina, Olivia, Breanne, and Savannah; grandsons, Matthew, Colton, Justin, Jaden and Jobe; a great-granddaughter, Sarina; and his sister, Dorothy Holdsworth of Weatherford, Texas.
