Emerson Scott Mahl, the son of Lisa Dickerson and Joseph Mahl, was stillborn on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. A private family burial will be held at Newton Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family of Emerson Mahl may be left at the funeral home.

Those left to honor Emerson are his parents; brother, Holdyn Mahl; maternal grandparents, Randy and Julie Dickerson; paternal grandparents, Tim and Amy Mahl; maternal great-grandmother, Marcy Brown; paternal great-grandparents, Janis Hefley, Keith Hefley, Nancy (John) Paschal, and Ron Mahl; and his uncle and aunts, Randy Dickerson, Jr., Laura Hinshaw, and Emily Henderson. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 3 Oct 2014.
