Mamie Adamson, Lifelong Jasper Resident, Dies

Mrs. A. A. (Mamie) Adamson of 214 E. Second ST. N., a lifelong resident of Jasper county, died this morning at the University Hospitals at Iowa City.

Death was attributed to a heart attack which occurred after she fell from bed and fractured a hip.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Morgan-Loehr Funeral Home.

The Rev. Cromwell C. Cleveland, minister of the First Christian Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Adamson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dwight (Hazel) Walker of Newton and Mrs. Josephine Main of Kansas City, Mo.; and a brother Ralph Callison of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Adamson was a member of the Christian Church and the Golden Age Club.

The daughter of Henry and Susan Wagoner Callison, she was born Aug. 7, 1889 in Jasper County.

She was married April 29, 1920 at St. Joseph, Mo., to Dr. A. A. Adamson.

Mrs. Adamson was a nurse’s aide at the Skiff Memorial Hospital. ~ Newton Daily News, June 28, 1962
