Richard Carl Teed August 23, 1944 - May 26, 2014

Richard Carl Teed, age 69 of Colfax, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church with burial following at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Richard Teed Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Gail Delroy and Esther Marie (Kern) Teed, Richard was born on August 23, 1944. He served in the United States Army. On June 28, 1970, he was united in marriage to Donna Nichol in Colfax. Richard worked at John Deere in Des Moines until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, watching hummingbirds, working on cars, camping and being in the outdoors. He also enjoyed his afternoon coffee with family and friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Donna; two sons, Robert (Becky) Teed of Colfax and Jamie (Mandi Palmer) Teed of Des Moines; a granddaughter Ryana Palmer and four sisters, Alene Beard of Colfax, Bonnie McCart of Corydon, Ruby Beard of Arizona and Henrietta Nickell of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters, Donna, and Dorothy and brothers, Leland, Edward, George, and Gail Jr. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
