KNOXVILLE – Dewey A. Heaberlin, 71, a lifelong resident of Knoxville, died of congestive heart failure Wednesday, July 19, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
The Rev. Eugene Nicols and the Rev. Chuck Snelling will conduct services.
Burial, with military graveside honors, will be held at Pleasantville Cemetery in Pleasantville.
Memorials to the Knoxville Church of God will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Joline of Knoxville; two sons, Alvin Heaberlin and Danny Heaberlin, both of Newton; a daughter, Ragina Heaberlin Johnson of Norwalk; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Berniece Brown of Knoxville; two brothers, Thurman Heaverlin of Ramona, Calif., and Herman Heaberlin of Sacramento, Calif.; and his mother, Bonnie Harrison of Knoxville.
Mr. Heaberlin was preceded in death by his father, Thurman D. Heaberlin.
Mr. Heaberlin was a member of the Knoxville Church of God and an Army veteran of World War II.
He retired from the Maytag Co. in Newton in 1979 with 30 years of experience.
The son of Thurman D. and Bonnie Wheeldon Heaberlin, he was born May 24, 1924 in Knoxville.
He was married to Joline Kincaid May 8, 1945 in Knoxville.
