CLEVERLEY, FREEMAN, MAXWELL, ROBERTSON, TROUT

MINGO – Funeral services for Orville W. Cleverley, 97, a resident of rural Mingo for 65 years, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. Robert Hinshaw, pastor at Ashton Chapel, will conduct services.
Burial will be in Peoria Cemetery in rural Maxwell.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials in his name will be accepted.
Mr. Cleverley died Wednesday morning at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, John E. Sr. and Ione of Mingo; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Robertson of Maxwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Zola A., Jan. 14, 1994, a brother, Charles, and a sister, Agnes Freeman.
A farmer, Mr. Cleverley was a past member of the Mingo Telephone Board and a past member of the Ashton Country School Board.
The son of Frank E. and Cora Inez Maxwell Cleverley, he was born June 13, 1898 at Collins and was a graduate of Harsh Country School.
He was married to Zola A. Trout March 27, 1920 in rural Newton.
Mr. Cleverley had resided near Collins for 32 years prior to moving to his rural Mingo farm.
