Katherine “Kate” Good, 89, of Ferguson, died Sunday, January 2, 2000, at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ferguson Christian Bible Church in Ferguson with the Rev. Bob Spilger officiating. Family burial services were held at the Timer Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to her church or the Ferguson Elementary School.
She was born in Liscomb on May 1, 1910, the daughter of Elmer and Eliza (Weatherly) Boyd. She was raised and educated in Liscomb, graduating from Liscomb High School in 1928.
On May 8, 1930, in Emmons, Minnesota she was united in marriage to Wilford “Bill” Good. Following their marriage they farmed in Marshall County until moving to Ferguson in 1951 where they had lived since. She had been employed as a custodian for the Ferguson Elementary School for 23 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of the Ferguson Christian Bible Church and the Missions Society of the church.
Survivors include her husband, Wilford “Bill” Good of Ferguson; two sons and three daughters, Mick Good, Tony (Judy) Good, Joan Riker, Kathy (Mrs. Jack) Smith all of Ferguson and Shirley (Mrs. Warren) Davison of Allison; a daughter-in-law, Marge Good of Ferguson; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Allen, Lou and Fritz; a great-grandchild; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Her son, Mick was a teacher in Baxter for a number of years. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, IA Thurs 6 Jan 2000.
