Jean Winifred Wiese was born on May 16, 1926 at Spencer, Nebraska to Arthur and Hildegarde Olin Wiese.

Those left to honor Jean's memory are her husband of 64+ years, Dale of Marshalltown; two sons, Douglas (Carol) Benskin of Ashburn, Virginia, and Kevin (Rita) Benskin of Kansas City, Missouri; her two grandchildren, Alissa (Rocky) McGrath, and Eric Benskin; two great-grandchildren, and her two nephews, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

Jean was a graduate of Adel High School in Adel, Iowa in 1944. She was a graduate of the Iowa Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Jean later received her BA in Education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She taught many years at Laurel and Ferguson schools, and would finish her 30+ years of teaching in the Marshalltown School District in Marshalltown.

Jean was an active member in the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. She loved her family, her work, and her students.

Memorials to the Iowa River Hospice or the Laurel United Methodist Church or to the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown may be left at the church on the morning of the service or may be left at the funeral home.

The Benskin family would like to thank the personnel of the Grandview Heights Nursing Home and of Iowa River Hospice for the loving care they gave to Jean.
