Alberta Backus, 80, of Newton died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at the Carlisle Care Center.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the cremation.

In memory of Alberta Backus, a graveside funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 26 at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton, Iowa.
Lunch will be served and provided by Newton VFW at 315 First Ave. W. following the service. Anyone needing directions to the cemetery may meet at the VFW at noon.
