William S. Allan, 80, of Newton, Iowa, died May 18, 2012, at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, from cancer.
He was born in Swanzey Center (NH) Sept. 9, 1931, son of John and Pearl Allen.
Mr. Allan enlisted in the U.S. Air Force when he was 17, saying that it was the best thing he ever did for himself.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Allan of Newton, Iowa; and his sister, Esther Cobb of Keene. His brothers, George, Lloyd and Lance, all died earlier.
A graveside service with military honors was held Wednesday in Newton. Wallace Family Funeral Home of Newton, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.
