CALLISON GIRL DEAD
Death Follows Attack Of Septic Sore Throat

Opal Irene Callison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. I. Callison, of the Bethel Grove neighborhood, died at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the Deaconess hospital. She became ill Aug. 4, of septic sore throat, and her condition became alarming Saturday. She was brought to the hospital at 10:40 Monday morning for an operation but her condition became so serious that no attempt was made to operate. Death was due to abscess of the larynx with paralysis of the throat.

Opal was born near Kellogg, July 11, 1915. She is survived by her parents, three sisters, Imogene, 15; Ruth, 11, and Dorothy, 3, and a brother, Carroll, 9, all at home. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Speas, of Ferguson, are her grandparents.

She had many friends in the Gilman, Laurel, Albion and Liscomb school districts. She became a member of the Bethel Grove Christian church on Easter Sunday, 1930, and was active in all church affairs. At the time of her death she was secretary of the Triangle Club and treasurer of the Loyal Daughters class. In September she would have entered the junior class of the Liscomb high school. The body will be at the Estel funeral home until the time of the funeral, which will be held from the Bethel grove church at 2:30 Wednesday, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Mina Hargis, assisted by Opal's uncle, Rev. H. A. Crawford of Superior, Wis. Burial will be in the Bethel Grove cemetery.
