Former Resident Dies in Nevada

Burnice G. Harper, 64, a former resident of Newton and Colfax, died Monday evening at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Reno, Nev.

He had made his home with his mother, Iva Mae Folkes, of Reno for the past 10 years.

Funeral services are pending in Reno. Burial will be in Reno.

Survivors are a daughter, Paulette, of Berkeley, Calif.; two brothers, Ralph of Corvallis, Ore., and Norman of Wenatchee, Wash.; seven sisters, Mrs. James (Harriett) Carr of Salem, Ore., Mrs. James (Helen) Oldham of Monroe, Mrs. Ray (Marjorie) Snodgrass of Newton, Mrs. Roy (Gretchen) Bonsall of South Beach, Ore., Mrs. Walt (Jeanne) Anderson of Needles, Calif., Mrs. O. B. (Shirley) Williams of Gresham, Ore.; and Mrs. Roy (Marcella) Youngblood of Honolulu, Hawaii; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, Oct. 24, 1949 and a brother.

He was a retired Winpower employee.

The son of Glenn and Iva Mae Wiggins Harper, he was born May 21, 1916 in Colfax and was educated in Colfax schools.

He was married to Pauline Stark Dec. 24, 1941 in Saline, Kan. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Tues 7 Apr 1981.
