JIM ANDERSON

Jim Anderson, 91, of Grinnell, formerly of Kellogg, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 19, at Kellogg Christian Church with the Rev. Mike Johnson, pastor of Carlisle Christian Church, officiating. Organist was June Gregory and soloist was Steve Fritz. Burial was in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kellogg Christian Church or the Kellogg Historical Society. Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1911, the son of Simon and Allie Smith Anderson. He was a 1930 graduate of Kellogg High School and attended Grinnell College. He was married May 3, 1939, to Priscilla McKibbon at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They made their home in Kellogg and he was for many years a bank officer at the Sully branch office of the Kellogg-Sully Bank.

He retired in 1981 and in 1999 the Andersons moved to Seeland Park in Grinnell. He was a member of the Sully Lions Club, the Newton Moose Lodge and served on the Kellogg-Sully Bank board of directors, the Jasper County Museum board of directors and the Kellogg Historical Society board of directors. He also was an active member of the Kellogg Christian Church which he served as Sunday school superintendent, church elder and as a member of the choir.

Survivors include his wife Priscilla of Grinnell, two children Marcy Fritz of Waukon and Dr. Rick Anderson of Salt Lake City; two sisters Grace Adams of Malcom and Dorothy Koger of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; one step- grandchild and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roy, Joe, Clifford and Glen Anderson, and one sister Laurine Wickersham.
