MINGO, IA. – James B. Hanson, 80, Mingo died of a heart attack Saturday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ashton Chapel, of which he was a member, with burial at Ashton Cemetery.

Mr. Hanson was born in Jasper County and had lived in the Mingo area all his life. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Myrma; a son, Gary of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; a daughter, Shirley K. Hanson of Maplewood, N. J.; and a sister, Grace Kimberley of Collins.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton, where the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 P.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Des Moines (IA) Register or The Newton (IA) Daily News.
