Mrs. Minnie Ray Dies at Hospital

Funeral Services Will Be Held Monday Afternoon; Burial in Palo Alto.

Mrs. Minnie Ray, 49 years of age, resident of the Whittemburg neighborhood in Mahaska Township, died at the Skiff Memorial Hospital last evening at 6 o’clock.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Murdoch Funeral Home. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, Thomas Ray, and six children, Mrs. Zona Shockley, Mrs. Hazel Evans, Tracy Ray, Miss Dorothy Ray, Burrell Ray and Miss Claudia Ray. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Sat 14 June 1930.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Ray, 49 year old resident of the Wittemberg neighborhood in Mahaska Township, who died at the Skiff Memorial Hospital Friday evening, were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock, at the Murdoch Funeral Home. Burial was in the Palo Alto Cemetery.

Mrs. Minnie Ray

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Ray were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Murdoch Funeral Home with Rev. Mills of the Wittemberg church officiating. Burial was in the Palo Alto Cemetery.

Music was furnished by Miss Belva and Miss Violet Brown, accompanied by Miss Amelia Shields.

Pallbearers were Gale Moore, Arthur Jones, C. C. Evans, Charles Schockley, Ailar Jones and Riley Moore.

Mrs. Minnie Ray died at the Skiff Memorial Hospital Friday, June 13 at 6 o’clock at the age of 49 years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul McBride of Cabool, Mo., and was born on April 19, 1881 at Arcadia, Kans.

She was united in marriage to Thomas C. Ray of Cabool on July 29, 1900 and to this union seven children were born, four daughters and three sons.

On Feb. 17, 1915 they came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Newton where they lived until the time of her death. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, four daughters and two sons, Troy, Burrell, Dorothy and Claudia at home, Mrs. C. C. Evans of Newton and Mrs. Charles Shockley of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Albert Wade of Sargent, Mo., Mrs. Neil Turner of Faulkner, Kans., and her father, Paul McBride of Baxter Springs, Kans. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News Thu 17 June 1930
