Bernard “Barney” Simbro, 64, of Reasnor died of cancer Thursday at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Monroe United Methodist Church, with cremation following services.

Mr. Simbro was born in Marion County and had lived in Reasnor for 20 years. He was a grader operator with the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; a son, Stacy of Newton; two daughters, Teresa Hughes and Marcelene Simbro, both of Reasnor; a brother, Clifford of Newton; and a sister, Coral Lee Marshall of Monroe.

Friends may call after noon today at Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Reasnor Park Fund. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register, Sun 26 Dec 1999.
