Died at his residence, 124 East 127th St., N.Y., on October 11 Titus B. Eldredge; age 50 years and 4 months. Mr. Eldredge was at this time owner of what was known as the “ranch” – big farm of over 1800 acres in Poweshiek and Sherman townships. He was a lawyer of acknowledged ability and national reputation and a polished gentleman. He was unostentatious, whole-souled and genial, with a disposition to enjoy the good things of life. Mrs. Eldredge is prostrated over the loss of her husband to whom she was married 20years ago. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Des Moines (IA) Register or The Newton (IA) Daily News. (1883)
