Obituary

Marv Stover, age 63 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Comfort House in Pella following a 10 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service at a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church or Hospice of Pella - Comfort House. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Bill and Marie (Van Wyk) Stover, Marv was born on August 29, 1950 in Monroe. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1968. On November 26, 1971, he was united in marriage to Sue Birkenholtz. They were blessed with four children. Marv served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. He was employed at Barber Lumber, Rus Oil of Pella for over 30 years and self-employed for 7 years. Marv loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, listening to his tunes be it country music or the oldies and those early morning chats with friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife Sue; a daughter, Tracy (Darin) Clark of Monroe and their sons, Quinton, Dakota, and Tristan; three sons, Major Jeremy (Mena) Stover of Abilene, Texas and their sons, Ronan and Lochlan, Nathan Stover of Monroe, and Captain Kyle (Lisa) Stover of Ely, England; and a sister, Delores Donahue of Monroe. Preceding him in death were his parents. Marv was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
