LaVonne Peterson Erickson

LaVonne Peterson Erickson entered into God’s care on March 1, 2014, in Atlanta, Ga. LaVonne was born on July 29, 1932, in Ames, to Wilmer and Ella Peterson. She was a graduate of Ames High School. LaVonne was devoted to her husband, L. John Erickson, since their marriage in 1952. She and John lived in Alexandria, Va.; New Orleans, La.; and Cleveland, Ohio, before settling in Newton permanently. LaVonne enjoyed golf and bridge and was active in PEO and Theta Chi.

LaVonne is survived by her husband John and their three sons, Robert from Lakewood, Colo., Mark (Nancy) from Milton, Ga., and Christopher (Connie) from Lino Lakes, Minn. She has six grandchildren, Tom, JD, Chelsea, Peter, Sara and Emma.

A celebration of LaVonne’s life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at the First Presbyterian Church in Newton. John and family will receive visitors following the service at a reception in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Newton Village Building Fund. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.

LaVonne Peterson Erickson, the daughter of Wilmer and Ella Peterson, was born on July 29, 1932 in Ames, Iowa. She was a graduate of Ames High School.

LaVonne was devoted to her husband, L. John Erickson since their marriage in 1952. She and John had lived in Alexandria, Virginia; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Cleveland, Ohio, before settling in Newton, Iowa permanently. LaVonne enjoyed golf, bridge and she active in PEO and Theta Chi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Newton Village Building Fund. Memorials may be left at the church on the afternoon of the memorial service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add; Attn: Erickson Family on the envelope.
