Harold Hammans Rites Thursday

Funeral services for Harold V. Hammans, 57, of 503 E. 23rd St. S., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jerome E. Egel, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; a son, Nick of Ottumwa, a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Kay) Claussen of Newton; four granddaughters; a brother, Arnold of Fairfield; and a sister, Mrs. Kinsey (Myrle) Black of Fairfield. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Des Moines (IA) Register or The Newton (IA) Daily News.

Harold Hammans dies on Monday; rites Thursday

Harold V. Hammans, 57, of 503 E. 23rd St. S., a resident of newton for 28 years, died Monday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jerome E. Egel, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will be accepted.

Survivors are a duaghter, Dorothy; a son, Nick of Ottumwa; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Kay) Claussen of Newton; four granddaughters, a brother, Arnold of Fairfield and a sister, Mrs. (Illigible) (Myrtle) Black of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Hammans was a member of the Holdy Lutheran Church, Elks Club, Maytag Management and the Maytag 25 Year Club.

Mrs. Hammans, was an area supervisor in the assembly department of the Maytag Co., was a vet of World War II and the (Illigible) Conflict.

The son of Tom (Illigible) Bogue Hammans he was (illigible) Sept (Illigible) attended Fairfield School.

He was marrid to (illigible) Waggoner July 11 (Illigible) Kahoka, Mo. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa 10 Mar 1981.
