Jane Adams Died Oct. 20

Mrs. Jane Adams died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 20, at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Yohe and family in Colfax.

Funeral services are pending at the Tuecke-Ailyn Funeral Home in Garnavillo. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Des Moines Iowa register or the Newton Iowa daily news, Thurs 22 Oct 1981

Jane Adams Rites Held

Mrs. Arthur (Jane) Smull Adams, 88, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 20, at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Yohe in Colfax, where she had made her residence for the past five years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Tuecke-Ailyn Funeral Home in Garnavillo, Iowa, with internment in the Clayton Cemetery.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Yohe of Colfax and Mrs. Loren (Abigail) Bush of Elkader, Iowa; two sons, Mr. Stanley Adams of Garnavillo, Iowa and Mr. Dixon Adams of Bellevue, Nebraska; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Keller of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gordon, her husband, and one grandchild, Gregory Adams.

She was a graduate of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, did graduate work at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and was a longtime teacher in northeast Iowa.

The daughter of John and Anna Cloukey Smull, she was born on August 13, 1893 in Waubay, South Dakota.
