Thomas A. Lamb, 60, of Colfax died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at his home.

There will be a celebration of Tom’s life at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the First Family Church in Ankeny. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. A visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.

Thomas Thomas Allen Lamb January 30, 1954 - February 22, 2014

Thomas A. Lamb, age 60 of Colfax, died Saturday, February 22, 2014, at his home. There will be a celebration of Tom's life held at the First Family Church in Ankeny on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Family Church Children's Addition and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Richard and Harriet (Hensen) Lamb, Tom was born on January 30, 1954 in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1972. He worked at Anderson Erickson Dairy for 35 years. On June 17, 2000, he was united in marriage to Tammy Ann Freed at Grace Baptist Church in Des Moines. Tom was a member of the First Family Church in Ankeny and Local #120. On Saturday afternoon, Tom lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Tom was a warm, welcoming, vibrant person who will be missed by those he leaves behind. Tom loved Jesus. He is in Heaven today enjoying the many promises the Bible describes for believers in Jesus Christ. He also loved driving for AE Dairy and projects around the house were one of his favorite past times.

Those left to honor his memory include, his wife, Tammy; his mother, Harriet; four children, Chester (Juanita) Miller and their three children, Ryan Lamb and his two daughters, Jennifer Moffit and her three children and Brandon (Susan) Lamb and their daughter; two brothers, Craig (Carol) Lamb and Jeff (Susan) Lamb and a sister, Sherri (Jeff) Orlich and his many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and of course his friends. Preceding him in death was his father, Richard. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
