Charles William Crews, the son of Charles Leonard and Anna (Light) Crews, was born March 16, 1926, in Pershing, Iowa. On January 14, 1948 Chuck was united in marriage with Blanche Breen in Knoxville, Iowa. Chuck worked as a foreman for the Maytag Company. He retired in 1984 with 30 years of service. Chuck also owned and operated Chuck’s Washer and Dryer Repair. He was a member of the retirees union. Chuck enjoyed fishing.

Chuck died on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, Iowa. He was 87 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Blanche on July 17, 2010; a son, Gregory Charles Crews; a granddaughter, Jill Alicia Crews and a sister, Doris Johnson.

Those left to honor Chuck’s memory include his son Gary (Debi) Crews of West Des Moines, IA; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Cason and Aaron Crews; his great granddaughter, Jada Cason; his sister, Betty (Alfred) Worrall of Knoxville, IA; and his brothers, Phil (Carolyn) Crews of Des Moines, IA, Donald L. Crews of Lincoln, NE and Dan (Marlene) Crews of Knoxville, IA.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, February 26th at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated in Chuck's name to the Perry Lutheran Home and may be left at the funeral home. ~ The Pence-Reese Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa.
