Glover Buttrey

Knoxville, IA. – Glover “Tink” Buttrey, 79, of Knoxville died of leukemia Thursday at Knoxville Area Community Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home here, with burial at Ruckman Cemetery in Marion County.

Mr. Buttrey was born in Dunreath and lived in Marion County all his life. Following retirement from Maytag Co., he had worked for Evans-McCleery Funeral Home. He was a member of the Knoxville Lions Club and Odd Fellows Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Doretta; a daughter, Josephine Cox, and a son, Donald, both of Knoxville; a brother, Ted of Newton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knoxville Lions or Coal Ridge Church. The Des Moines Register, 14 June 1991.
