York Adams

Michael York Adams, 52 of Chattanooga, Tenn., a freelance artist, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010.

York was devoted to his family and faith. One of his outstanding features was his artistic creativity. York also enjoyed the outdoors and as an avid fisherman. His family and friends will always remember him for his one-line jokes. York was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, East Brainerd, Tenn., formerly employed with Nagle-Clear Channel, Memphis, ten., a freelance artist and employed at Convergys, Chattanooga, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Mae Yockey Adams.

York leaves behind his wife, Anita Rodgers Adams; two children, Emily and Ross; mother-in-law, Ann Rodgers, Dickson, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Rick Rodgers and his wife, Helen, and their family, Collierville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Linda Mallory, and her husband, Rod, and their family, Marion, Ariz.; brother, Scott Walker, and his family, Newton, Iowa; uncle, Ron Yockey, and his family , Sandwich, Ill.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 21, in the funeral home chapel with rev. David Hall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the York Adams Memorial Fund at Regions bank, in care of Anita R. Adams, 2128 Gunbarrel Road, Chattanooga, TN 27421.

Family and friends will always remember York for his one line jokes. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of East Brainerd. He was a freelance Artist and was also employed by Convergys.

He leaves behind his wife, Anita R. Adams, two children, Emily and Ross, brother, Scott Walker and family, Newton, IA; Ron Yockey and family, Sandwich, IL.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Hall, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the York Adams Memorial Fund in care of Regions Bank on Gunbarrel Road.
