Iva Mae Van Baale November 12, 1924 - February 6, 2014

Iva Mae Frazer Van Baale, born November 12, 1924 to Vern L. and Mable Ann Churchill Frazer in Prairie City, Iowa left this life on February 6, 2014 at the age of 89 years.

As a young child, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the Methodist Church in Prairie City, IA. Later she transferred to First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro, Texas, where she remained a faithful member.

Iva Mae married Harold Van Baale on November 14, 1943 in Prairie City, Iowa. They had two sons, Harold Eugene (Gene) and Joseph Lester (Joe.) Over the years, besides planning many of her high school reunions, being a mother and homemaker, she worked at the Prairie City Nursing Home, "Look Magazine" and The National Computer Service in Des Moines, Iowa. After the death of her husband, she moved to Solon, Iowa where she worked at American College Testing in Iowa City, Iowa for 16 years, when she retired and moved to Jacksboro, Texas to be near her sons.

Iva Mae belonged to the First United Methodist Women, Eastern Star since 1949, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge since 1948, joined the Junior Auxiliary of the American Legion at age 11 then transferred her membership to the Senior American Legion Auxiliary at age 18 then on to become a life member. She enjoyed her work in the church and all organizations, helping to do for others.

She is survived by her sons, Gene and wife, Sharon of Jacksboro, Joe and wife Alice of Slidell, 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Ina Beth Engel of Norfolk, NE, and one brother Wayne Frazer and wife Beverly of Webster City, IA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Orville and Lowell Frazer and a special friend, Mary Ewell of Jacksboro.
