Lois Dickerson-Saylor-Lingenfelter, 80, of Newton died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services are pending at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.

Lois Dickerson Saylor Lingenfelter, the daughter of Carroll Frederick and Jennie Ruth (Dodd) Dickerson, was born March 24, 1933 in rural Newton, Iowa.

Lois was united in marriage with Robert Saylor on October 2, 1974 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Bob would precede her in death on July 30, 2002.

Lois was united in marriage with Leonard “Link” Lingenfelter on May 8, 2004 in Monroe, IA.

Lois worked for the Maytag Company in Newton. She retired March 31, 1995 with 19.3 years of service. Lois was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Newton. She enjoyed trout fishing, camping, crocheting, feeding the birds and most of all, her grandchildren.

Lois died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was 80 years old. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Saylor, her son Michael Holderman; a step daughter, Patricia; and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to honor Lois’ memory include her husband, Leonard “Link” Lingenfelter of Monroe; her daughters, Karen (John) Steiner of Sharpsville, IN, Kathy (Frankie) Everling of Tipton, IN, Nancy Holderman Funcke of Monroe; her step children, Lola, Larry, Gary, Ralph, Betty; her six grandchildren; her five great grandchildren; her many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Charles Dickerson, Carol Umbarger, George Dickerson, Kathy Hewitt, Michael Patton, Bill Patton, Dianna Dougan; her sisters-in-law, Carol Ina Gibson and Mickey Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 9:30 am until 11:00 am, Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated in Lois’ name. ~ The Pence Reese Funeral Home, Newton Iowa.
