Ward, Howard Allen 66 Dec. 10, 1947 Jan. 27, 2014 Howard "Al" Ward, 66, of Portland, was born in Newton, Iowa. He served proudly and retired from the U.S. Army. Al is survived by his wife, Rose; son, Thomas Allen; brothers, James Edward, Keith Robert, John Henry Jr. and Dennis Preston; sisters, Shirley Mae and Darlene Irene; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Willamette National Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the VFW Post 4248, 7118 S.E. Fern Ave., Portland.
