Funeral services for Henry Richard Kleinendorst, 65, Prairie City, who was killed in an automobile accident Tuesday, March 20, near Monroe, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the First Reformed Church in Prairie city.

The Rev. Dan Ramaker, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Additional services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pella Reformed Church in Adams, Neb. Burial will be in the Pella Cemetery in Adams.

Memorials may be left at the Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Kathryn Kleinendorst of Everett, Wash., and Janet Kleinendorst of Denver, Colo.; a grandchild; and his father, Cornelius Kleinendorst of Grand Rapids, Minn.

Also surviving are three brothers, Cecil of St. Paul, Minn., Donald of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jack of Grand Rapids, Minn.; and two sisters, Martha June Farnsworth of Redding, Calif.; and Lorraine Williams of Gilbert, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers.

Mr. Kleinendorst served as a paratrooper during World War II during which he was awarded a Silver Star, and later served in the Korean conflict.

He had farmed for a number of years near Prairie City and in Nebraska and was traffic manager of Van Gorp Manufacturing for 15 years.

The son of Cornelius and Mary Vanderbeek Kleinendorst, he was born March 30, 1918 near Monroe.

He was married to Ruth Kroese June 16, 1950 in Adams Nebraska. ~ Newspaper unknown, Thur. 22 May 1984
