Mrs. Wm. Mulleneaux Died Nov. 9

Mrs. William M. Mulleneaux, Sr., 88, a former resident of Colfax, died November.9th at the Mountain View Hospital in Sylmar, Calif.

Funeral services were to be held at the Federated Church at Ajo, Ariz.

Survivors are five children, Mrs. V. V. (Maud) Logsdon of Newton, Mrs. C. A. (Lucille) Sheets of Richardson, Tex., Henry Mulleneaux of Des Moines, William Mulleneaux Jr., of Newton, and Mrs. H. C. (Mary) Morris of Sylmar, Calif.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Otto Carroll of Newton and Mrs. Sadie Jones of Colfax and two brothers, John W. McWhirter of Los Angeles, Ca., and Robert McWhirter of Waterville, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1963 And a son, John in 1967, and three sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Mulleneaux was a member of the Methodist Church and a former member of the Pythian Sisters, having served as secretary of the organization for many years.

A member of the Colfax women's club, she served as treasurer of the organization for 40 years. She was active in red crossword during both world war one and World War II, having taught a class and knitting as well as knitting articles herself.

The daughter of John and Rebecca Wilson McWhirter she was born August 29, 1880 in Glascow, Scotland, and at the age of six, accompanied her parents to the United States.

They settled in the Metz community, moving to Colfax 13 years later, in 1899.

She was married to William M. Mulleneaux in the Methodist Church Parsonage February 23, 1898.

Mrs. Logsdon, William Mullenaux, Junior and family and Mrs. Stella Maxwell left Saturday to attend services. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Des Moines Register or Newton (IA) Daily News.
