James Murdock Dies

James Murdock born 5 May 1843 in Muirkirk, Scotland, died 6 Feb 1917 at 10:30 Am age 75 at his home, 420 3 Ave SW from
Complications of diseases (gripp and pneumonia). He is buried in Palo Alto Cemetery 8 Feb 1917.

He lived in Newton over 40 years, invalid over 20 years.

Survived by wife and 5 children, John Murdock, William Murdock, Mrs. Anna Wells, Mrs. Floyd Hurd (Hard?), and Miss Jennie Murdock, all of Newton. One brother Hugh Murdock.

Services at home. Sons and nephew of the deceased will be pall bearers. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News 6 Feb 1917
