Graveside Rites
Held Tuesday for Lorena Schorman

Graveside rites were held for Lorena Schorman, 87, at Bethany Cemetery, rural Baxter, on Tuesday morning, March 7, 1989. Pastor Jerry Stevenson officiated.

Miss Schorman died March 2 in Clearwater, Fla.

The daughter of William and Lydia Kracht Schorman, she was born Oct. 25, 1901 in Baxter. She was raised and educated in Baxter and was a graduate of Baxter High School in the class of 1919. When she was a young lady she worked for her father in the Baxter Mercantile Store.

She was a graduate of Coe College and taught schools in Iowa, Illinois and Florida. She held a masters degree in library science and was a member of Delta Delta Gamma Sorority.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Eleanor Herman of Clearwater, Fla., and one nephew, William Herman of Clinton, N.J. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Des Moines Register or The Newton (IA) Daily News.
