Hilda Emma Iske Rites Saturday At Newton Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Louis (Hilda Emma) Iske, 83, of Newton will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday at the First Lutheran Church.

The Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Reese Funeral Home after 10 a.m. today.

Memorials to the First Lutheran Church organ fund have been established in her name and may be left at the funeral home.

Surviving are a son, Elmer of rural Newton and a sister, Mrs. Everett (Clara) Edge of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in June, 1963, and two brothers.

Mrs. Iske was a member of the First Lutheran Church, a 55-year member of the Oak Ridge Grange, a member of the Newton No. 3 Homemakers and was active in women’s organizations of the church.

The daughter of Christian and Caroline Bunse, she was born Nov. 13, 1894 at Cosby, Mo., and was educated in rural Missouri schools.

She moved to a farm north of Newton following her marriage to Louis F. Iske Feb. 20, 1918 at Wecklif, Ky., and resided there until moving to Newton in 1957.

Mrs. Iske died Thursday morning at the Colonial Manor in Baxter. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Friday, January 13, 1978
