Blanche Peterson Dies at Colfax; Services Sunday

COLFAX- Funeral services for Mrs. Ray (Blanche) Peterson, 77, of Colfax will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the Christian Church in Colfax, will conduct services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Harry Morgan of Maxwell; a step-daughter, Mrs. Bertha Hamil of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ted (Glant) Schlosser of Colfax, Mrs. Grace Beals of Colfax, Mrs. Lula Lutz of Des Moines and Mrs. Dot Polodna of Prairie du Chein, Wis., and three brothers, Arthur Briles of Perry, Herschel Briles of Colfax and George Briles of Collins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1973, her parents and a brother.

Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Christian Church in Colfax and the Colfax Senior Singers.

The daughter of William and Ida Goudy Briles, she was born Mar. 27, 1900 at Covington, Ind.

She was married to Frank Morgan in 1919 in Des Moines and to Ray Peterson Sept. 23, 1974 in Colfax.

She died Thursday at her home in Colfax. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Friday, January 6, 1978.
