Bobbie Gene Dalbey Sr., 61, of Prairie City died of cancer Tuesday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. The body will be cremated following services.

Mr. Dalbey was born in Beacon and lived in Des Moines before moving to Prairie City seven years ago. He had worked for Baker Mechanical and Cutler Corp. and was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Union and Pleasant Hill Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Sylvia; three sons, Bobbie Jr. of Libertyville, David of Winterset and Randy of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepsons, Joe McCullah of Prairie City and Kit Lathrom of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Connie Sanders of Oskaloosa; two brothers, Arnie Lathrop of Marshalltown and Harold Dalbey of Lewisburg, N.C.; two sisters, Roxanne Warnell of Gladbrook and Rhonda Byers of Texas; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ~ Newspaper unnamed, possibly The Des Moines Register or Newton (IA) Daily News.
