Charles D. Conover, 91, of Sully died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, in Grinnell.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Sully Community Church. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sully Community Church.
Interment will be prior to the memorial service in Sully Cemetery. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.

Charles Day Conover was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on July 23, 1922, to Walton and Ethel Day Conover. Charles received his early education near his farm home and later graduated from William Penn College in Oskaloosa. He passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell, Iowa, at the age of ninety-one.
On June 24, 1955, Charles was united in marriage with Dorothy Harthoorn at the Sully Christian Reformed Church. They were blessed with three children: Wes, Carolyn, and Bonita. After his marriage Charles farmed and later enjoyed working at Rural Concern Hotline for twenty years.
Charles was a member of the Sully Community Church where he served in many capacities. He enjoyed reading and fishing.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his three children and their spouses: Wes and Jan Conover of Sully, Carolyn and Dale Rolffs of Lynnville, and Bonita and Curt Jansen of Newton; eight grandchildren: Chad (Beth) Conover, Anna (Darin) Arkema, Jenna (Brad) Chamra, Alaina (Kennan) Archer, Trent (Joa) Rolffs, Natasha (Nathan) Nikkel, Shawn Jansen, and Ryan Jansen; six great-grandchildren: Brooke, Will, and Tyler Conover and Evan, Andrew, and Kate Arkema; sisters-in-law, Norma Conover, Nellie Harthoorn, Cora Jansen, and Ernestine Dieleman.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Dorothy, August 21, 2008; his siblings, Louise Augustine and Bruce Conover. ~ The Pella Garden Chapel, Pella, Iowa.
