Richard Paul Boettcher of Antigo, Wis., formerly of Newton, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at the age of 83 years. He was born on April 8, 1930, in Park Falls, Wis., a son of the late Richard and Ruth (Hall) Boettcher. He married the late Armyllis Weirschke in 1952, and had five children. The couple later divorced and he married Maxine Dickerson on Dec. 24, 1985, in Newton. She preceded him in death in 2002.

Mr. Boettcher served in the United States Army from 1948-1949.

He was a self-employed welder in Newton. Following his retirement in 1986, he moved to Antigo.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Don) Tucker of Carrollton, Ill., and Victoria (Fred) Heller of Antigo, Wis.; a son, Paul (Delores) Boettcher of Russell, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Anita (Ralph) Kleinsteiber of Highbridge, Wis.; a brother, James (Jeannie) Boettcher of West Bend, Wis.; and a sister-in-law, Ceilia Boettcher of Maple, Wis.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Boettcher; infant son, Rodney; two grandchildren, Robin Klein and Jeramie Heller; three sisters, Thelma Taylor, Susan Berndt and Jessie Kleinsteiber; and two brothers, Franklin and Fred.

A visitation and funeral service took place on Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home in Antigo with the Rev. Wes Jedras officiating. Condolences may be left at www.bradleyfh.com. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.
