Rosalie Bailey, 90, of Marshalltown passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family to later be designated to Iowa River Hospice. Rosalie Irene Gile was born on May 8, 1923, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harry and Grace Gile. Rosalie attended country school in the Marshalltown area. On January 20, 1940, Rosalie was united in marriage to Charles Bailey; they lived in Marshalltown, Montour and Mingo.

Rosalie was employed for the Vernon Company in Newton, Iowa. She loved her flower garden and roses, her Yorkie Katie, cooking and especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish Rosalie’s memory is her son: Don (Sandy) Bailey of Marshalltown, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Siblings: Marion Paul of Georgia; Alice Meckley of Colfax, Iowa; and Wilber Gile of Marshalltown, Iowa. And a daughter-in-law, Norma Bailey of Primghar, Iowa.

In death Rosalie rejoins her parents, Harry and Grace; her husband, Charles (1987); daughter, Beverly Seffinga; step-son, Dale Bailey; and sisters, Veda Paul, Margaret Meling, Gladys Petrie, and Edna Bailey. ~ The Des Moines Register Legacy, Des Moines, Iowa.
