Beulah Bixby, 81, Dies Early Today; Services Thursday
Mrs. David (Beulah Leona) Bixby, 81, of Suncrest Village, a resident of Newton since 1919, died Tuesday morning [August 7, 1979] at the Nelson-Manor Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. William E. Sexton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are a son, Hubert E. of Prairie City; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Thelma) Dougal of Newton, Mr. Robert (Betty) Schnathorst of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. Lee (Leona) Creek of Kirkland, Wash., and Mrs. Ralph (Lenora) Reams of Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1963, an infant brother and a son-in-law, Robert Schnathorst Aug. 5, 1979.
Mrs. Bixby was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Pocahontas Lodge.
The daughter of A. O. and Ellen Brown Seaver, she was born Aug 16, 1898 in Marion County.
She was married Aug. 30, 1916 in Des Moines. ~ The Newton Daily News, August 8, 1979.
