Funeral services for Mrs. Claude (Opal) Rodgers, 82, of Colfax, a lifelong resident of Jasper County Iowa, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, at the Colfax Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Paul Soderquist, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.

Miss Eleanor Howell was the organist.

Casket bearers were DeVere Cleveland, Robert Underwood, John Slatkoske, Joe Slatkoske, Royal Cross and William Pratt.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax handled the arrangements.

She died Sunday evening at the Clear View Manor in Prairie City.

Survivors are two daughters, Dorra Burnett of Denver, Colo., and Claudia Lippincott of Colfax; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1955 and two brothers.

Mrs. Rodgers was a member of the Eastern Star and Past Matrons Club and a charter member of the Colfax American Legion Auxillary.

The daughter of S.T. Kline and Dora Starkweather Kline, she was born July 30, 1899 in Mingo and was graduated from Colfax Community HIgh School in 1917.
