Clinton McClintock, 80, of Benton passed away Monday morning, Dec. 26, 2011, at the Franklin Hospital in Benton. Benton, Ill. —

Clinton McClintock, 80, of Benton passed away Monday morning, Dec. 26, 2011, at the Franklin Hospital in Benton.

Masonic Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Eddie Paul Davis officiating. Flag presentation services will be conducted by the Thompsonville American Legion.

The Morton &?Johnston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clinton was born in West Frankfort on April 21, 1931, the son of William and Leila (Ice) McClintock.

He married Dora McCoy on Jan. 17, 1954, in West Frankfort, and she survives.

Mr. McClintock was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Army. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, and a Past Master.

Mr. McClintock was a member of the Thompsonville American Legion.

He retired as a lieutenant with the Iowa State Patrol after 32 years of service.

Mr. McClintock is survived by his wife, Dora McClintock of Benton; five children, Sheryl Church and husband, Tom, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Michael McClintock and wife, Bobbi, of Badger, Iowa, Carolyn Ferdig and husband, Fred, of Luray, Mo., William McClintock and wife, Sara, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Clinton McClintock and wife, Stacy, of Alburnett, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Jackie Burgart, Angela Church, Ashley Osoria, Samantha McClintock, Elizabeth Yearns, Cole McClintock, Carter McClintock, Mya McClintock, Ruby McClintock, Bethany McClintock and Logan McClintock; one great-grandson, Braxton Osorio; two brothers, John McClintock and wife, Phyllis, of Goodlettesville, Tenn., and Jack McClintock and wife, Dorothy, of Thompsonville.

Mr. McClintock was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Sylvia McClintock and Mary Frankie.
